Express Entry

Express Entry is a Canadian immigration system that streamlines the process for skilled workers. First, candidates submit an online profile. Then, based on their qualifications, they are ranked using a point-based system. Subsequently, the highest-ranked candidates receive invitations to apply for permanent residency, thus facilitating their immigration process.

Express Entry is a Canadian system that selects Skilled Workers. Eligible candidates will be permitted to move in less than 6 months. More specifically, it is a method through which skilled immigrants are selected to apply for Canadian immigration.

It works more as a database called Express Entry Pool, on which the profile of eligible candidates is kept when they qualify for any of the following Federal programs:

  1. Federal Skilled Worker
  2. Canadian Experience Class
  3. Federal Skilled Trade Worker

To qualify for the Express Entry Pool, a candidate has to be proficient in at least one of the two official languages of Canada i.e. English and French and to prove the proficiency; he has to take IELTS General Training Test.

If you have pursued your education from a foreign university, it is recommended to get your education assessed in Canada by an IRCC approved institute which will award the points for your foreign education.

Application Needs

Applicants accepted into Express Entry Pool will then receive points based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). This system considers the applicant's age, experience, proficiency in one of the Official languages of Canada and education. The system also considers Canadian experience while assessing the profile. The maximum points given to the applicant are 600. Your spouse profile will also be considered if you are married.

Extra points will be awarded to your profile if you have any support from a Canadian employer through (Labor Market Impact Assessment) LMIA or if you are nominated by a Canadian province.

Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada or IRCC regularly selects eligible candidates from the Express Entry Pool based on the top ranking.

On getting selected, you will receive an "Invitation to Apply" (ITA). Post that, you need to send your complete application package to the Canadian immigration authority within 90 days time; else your candidature will be rejected.

The application package will be dependent on your qualifying program. On receiving the application within the stipulated time, your application will be assessed by IRCC within 6 months.

On receiving approval, you will receive a Permanent Residence Confirmation from the side of IRCC. Your immigration process ends when you enter Canada as a Canadian immigrant. Consult Immigration Xperts, if you want to know more about Express Entry Canada Immigration 2024.
