On August 17, 2021, British Columbia conducted four Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws, which resulted in the invitation of over 435 immigrants. Every month since February, British Columbia has held two distinct rounds of invites for its PNP programme. A general draw and a second draw for retail and wholesale retail managers, as well as restaurant and foodservice managers, are held by the province. According to a press release from the province, the second draw is due to a large number of persons enrolled in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) with these two occupations. B.C. hopes to balance the demands in all areas of the provincial labour market by hosting these extra draws. Invitations were sent to people in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the SI and EEBC streams, respectively. For that draw, the minimum scores varied from 73 to 91 points. A total of 363 people were asked to apply Candidates whose occupation falls within NOC 0621 or NOC 0631 were targeted in a separate draw under the SI and EEBC categories. The draw provided 64 invites with a combined score of 106. B.C. also issued eight invites via its Category for Entrepreneur Immigration Base and less than five invitations via the Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Pilot category. B.C. has issued around 7527 invites via multiple BC PNP streams so far this year.
