The BC PNP is intended to attract high-demand international employees who wish to become permanent citizens.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws held on January 11 resulted in 232 invitations to immigrate to British Columbia.

Through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), the province conducted two draws, inviting candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams.

Those from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the SI and EEBC streams got invitations.

A general draw was used to distribute the majority of the invites, which totaled 201. These candidates got invites if they satisfied the minimum score criteria, which ranged from 78 and 110 depending on the program.

Another draw targeted applicants with NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant and foodservice managers) jobs. That draw resulted in 31 invites, all with minimum scores of 110.

British Columbia has been conducting a separate round of invites twice a month as part of its PNP program since last February. Because of the large number of candidates from certain labor market sectors who have registered in the province's Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS), these draws are being held.
