Since the beginning of the year, the BC PNP has sent out over 1,000 invitations to file for provincial nomination.

Through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws on February 8, British Columbia invited 198 immigration applicants.

Through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), the province conducted two draws, inviting candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams.

Those from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the SI and EEBC streams received invitations.

The bulk of the invites, 188, were sent through a general draw. The bulk of the invites, 188, were distributed by a lottery draw. These candidates were invited provided they satisfied the minimal score criteria, which ranged between 77 and 120 depending on the program.

Another draw targeted applicants with NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant and foodservice managers) as their occupation. That draw resulted in 10 invites, each with a minimum score of 120.

British Columbia has been holding a different round of invites twice a month as part of their PNP program since February 2021. Because of the large number of candidates from certain labor market sectors who have registered in the province's Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS), these draws are being held.
