Since July 6, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its fifth all-program Express Entry draw.
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off was 516, and IRCC issued 2,750 invitations to apply (ITA). Express Entry is one of Canada's most important immigration routes for skilled applicants.
Because no programme was indicated for this draw, individuals from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) were eligible.
Beginning in December 2020, IRCC suspended all Express Entry draws for a period of 18 months. Only individuals eligible for permanent residency under the CEC or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) were asked to apply during this time period. CEC draws, however, were also halted in September 2021.
The draws were halted due to an overwhelming amount of permanent residence applications received during the global COVID-19 outbreak. During this time, Canada's border was closed, and travel requirements were regularly altered.
Since all-program draws resumed on July 6, this draw has had the biggest gain in ITAs, up by 500. Until today's draw, the number of ITA recipients had increased by exactly 250 with each draw. For example, the first draw in July invited 1,500 people, the second 1,750, and so on.
The minimum CRS score has also gradually declined, losing between eight and nine points per draw. The first CRS minimum score was 557.
