This week marked the third Express Entry draw. Previously, the department extended invitations to 1,613 candidates with Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nominations, requiring a minimum score of 743. Additionally, on October 9, a draw was conducted inviting 500 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), who needed a minimum score of 539.
Prior to this week, the last draw took place on September 19, which invited 4,000 CEC candidates, all requiring a minimum CRS score of 509. This represented a slight increase from the previous CEC draw on August 27, which had a minimum score of 507.

In recent months, the IRCC has decreased the frequency of category-based selection draws, with no category-based selections occurring other than for French language proficiency since the draw for healthcare candidates on July 5.
Conversely, Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws have become more frequent over the summer, with the IRCC issuing 21,800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to CEC candidates since July. This aligns with the IRCC’s goal to increase the number of “domestic” draws while reducing the influx of temporary residents in Canada. This approach is also intended to assist the department in meeting its annual permanent resident targets.
Today's draw marks the third of the month. In comparison, last year the IRCC conducted four draws in October, inviting a total of 9,173 candidates.
