The Canadian Studies Association survey shows that 41 percent Canadian were happy for current immigration levels. This comparison is made with the 38 percent of those who says that level are too high.
This poll came into reflection when Canada just accepted over 40,000 refugees and made an announcement for sustained record level of immigration of 300,000 immigrants per year.
Canadians also express their positive responses towards the minority group. With the latest report, it has been seen that 55% detained a positive vision for Muslim in Canada. This positivity was also seen in thoughts towards Jews and aboriginals.
More than 2,500 were questioned, among which 500 were born outside the country. With the questions answers, it has been realized that there is the difference in thoughts towards immigration and multiculturalism. Major metropolitan areas of Canada respondents have positive views towards multiculturalism.
With Association for Canada studies, it was found that 80.6 percent in Hamilton-Niagara reports a very positive and positive attitude. It was lowest in Edmonton where it is about 69.7 percent who have the same views as Hamilton-Niagara.
Most of the Calgary residents about 45.5% also said about many immigrants. This trend may be possibly a result of high unemployment rate in the city and Alberta-wide province.
The responses also differ as per the people resident location and the political spectrum. More than 60 percent of these said that there were too many migrants that vary with 17 percent. These figures sometimes support the hesitant trend towards Canada acceptance increase. The poll also shows that Canadians are able to split their dislike and like for Donald Trump from their general attitude toward American. However, 66 percent reported a positive attitude for the people of the south border while 73 percent said that they don’t like their president.
