Under the Ontario Provincial Nomination Program, 57 applicants were offered an invitation to apply. All of these applicants were from Skilled Trades. For the year 2018, this latest draw brings the number of candidates who received an NOI (Notification of Interest) under this stream to 545.
Only applications that were submitted between January 1 2018 and April 25 2018 were considered.
The Skilled Trades stream is important for provinces to get their hands on some of the best talent in agricultural and construction sectors. Applicants from other fields cannot apply to this provincial nominee program via Skilled Trades. Still, there is hope that this stream will be expanded further and will include multiple other professions in the future.
Eligibility Criteria for Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades stream:
- Express Entry Profiles in the Skilled Trades Stream
- At least 12 months of full time work experience for the specific trade in Ontario
- English or French language proficiency
- Proof of funds to support self and dependents
