Draw held on June 3rd under Labour Market Priorities Stream of Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NS PNP) invited 312 express entry registered candidate with eligible work experience as early childhood educators and assistants.   Province of Nova Scotia is located on Canada’s scenic Atlantic coast; it already welcomes record-breaking skilled immigrants for permanent residency in the previous year 2018 which also included many immigrants via Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NS PNP). NS PNP allows the province to nominate a number of immigrants for Canada PR visa each year via its eight streams that are designed to meet the specific economic needs of the local labor market of the province.   Labour Market Priorities Stream allows the province of Nova Scotia, to search for the eligible candidates in the federal government’s express pool with work experience in an occupation that is facing a shortage of skilled individuals in the province.   Out of the eight streams of NS PNP, three of them are linked with express entry program that manages the profiles of the candidates who have registered under: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In case an express entry candidate is able to get a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia, they are awarded 600 CRS points. These many points fast-tracked the process for the candidate to get the Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for Canada PR visa to the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC).   For candidates to be considered under Labour Market Priorities Stream or any other express entry linked streams of Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NS PNP), they first are required to enter the express pool.   June 3rd draw was targeted the express entry candidates who have the work experience in National Occupational Classification NOC 4214: Early childhood educators and assistants. Other criteria included for this NOC are as follows:
  • Proof that a candidate has received post-secondary education in early childhood education for children aged 0 to 8 years;
  • Proof that a candidate has completed a program of two or more years at a university, college, trade or technical school, or another institute; and
  • Letters of reference from employers to demonstrate proof of a minimum of five years of work experience in NOC 4214
  Express entry candidates who were selected in this draw have submitted their express profile on or after August 8, 2018.   With the creation of Labour Market Priorities Stream in August 2018, it has been used a total of four times. With two times being used to target the candidates with work experience as early childhood educators and the stream has targeted financial auditors and accountants and express entry candidates who listed French as their first official language.   Reference is taken from CIC news
