Express Entry Draw October 2, 2019

  The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score, as per the recent draw on October 2  is 464. This express entry draw has resulted in 3,900 invitation to Apply (ITA) being issued to apply for Canadian permanent residence.   This cut-off score is two points above the minimum score of 462 from the previous invitation round of September 18, 2019.   Following a tie-breaking rule for this draw released on October 2, not all aspirants with 464 points will be issued an ITA. Since the number of candidates with 464 points is exceptionally high, only those who have submitted the Express Entry profile to the pool prior to September 2019 at 15:05:04 will be given priority.   Express Entry comparison across 2019:
  • Lowest CRS cutoff points in 2019: 438 (January 30, 2019)
  • Highest CRS cutoff points in 2019: 470 (May 29,2019)
  An insight into the Express Entry draw released by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)reveals that a close range of CRS score between 457-465 is constantly maintained since February 2019. The most appropriate reason behind this stability in draw could be explained as the number of applications of candidates with CRS score between this range or higher would have been equivalent to the number of ITAs issued in each round.   This simply implies that within every subsequent two weeks period, approximately 3500 to 4500 Express Entry aspirants are eligible for the CRS score between or above the range 457-465. This includes both, the candidates who submit their profiles for the first time in the Express Entry pool as well as the existing candidates who have also applied previously and now come back with an improved CRS score.   There still exists a lot of hope for those for aspirants with a CRS score below this range, as the final quarter of 2018 also resulted in a dramatic fall in the CRS score cutoff from 446 in January 2018 to 439 in December 2018.   Although, due to the recent boom in the number of applications received for the Express Entry program from across the globe, the competition to make it to the pool is really high. This could also result in the cut-off score to remain the same or high for the next few months.   A range of factors influences the stability of the CRS cut-off score. This includes:
  • The number of candidates invited for ITA;
  • The frequency of Express Entry draws released by IRCC;
  • The number of new aspirants entering the pool;
  • The improvement in the CRS score of existing candidates.
