Alberta invites 374 Express Entry candidates in the latest draw

  Alberta has invited to a total of 374 candidates in its recent Express Entry selection process. The invitation has been distributed on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of only 400 to apply for their provincial nomination program for Canadian permanent residence.   The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) could be described as one of the integrated components of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which in turn enables the participating provinces as well as territories to nominate a considerable number of eligible Economic-Class immigration applicants and offer them Canadian permanent residence.   All the provinces and territories that are associated with the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) have at least one category or stream linked directly with the Express Entry system of Canada. The Express Entry system in turn is responsible for managing the pool of candidates under Canada’s three prominent skilled worker immigration programs. This includes Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class and Canadian Experience Class.   In the draws that were completed in September, the AINP conducted three selection rounds via its Alberta Express Entry Stream and invited a total of 852 Express Entry applicants to allow them to apply for their provincial nomination program.   The process includes Alberta Express Entry Stream enabling the AINP to search through the federal Express Entry pool and search skilled foreign workers with a strong relation to Alberta or those who have professional work experience in an occupation that assists province’s economic growth and development along with diversification priorities.   Candidates are not required to hold a prior job offer in Alberta, but AINP has also suggested that more priority is given to candidates if they have:
  • a job offer and/or prior work experience in Alberta;
  • a degree from a post-secondary institution in Canada along with a valid job offer;
  • a parent, a child or a sibling already residing in Alberta
  The candidate receiving a provincial nomination result in receiving an additional 600 points within the Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The total CRS score thus achieved by a candidate determines their overall ranking in the Express Entry System and when an additional 600 points are gained through a provincial nomination then it simply guarantees an invitation to apply to be sent for Canadian permanent residence.   Up till now, the candidate with the lowest-ranked score within the Express Entry pool invited through the AINP’s September 25 selection process had a CRS score of 400.   This score though was higher from the previous AINP selection rounds, that even chose candidates with scores as low as 300. However, a CRS score of 400 is significantly lower when compared with the overall cut-off score of the recent federal Express Entry draw, released on October 2, which as equivalent to 464. The recent 374 invitations sent on September 25, made the total number of Express Entry candidates that were invited through the AINP in 2019 to 6,088.   Immigration Experts best Immigration Consultant will help you to resolve all of your Canadian/Australian immigration-related queries.
