PEI invites 158 Candidates in the Latest Draws

  In a draw held on October 17, Prince Edward Island issued new invitations for candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in its divisions of Express Entry, Labor Impact, and Business Stream. In the categories of Express Entry and Labor Impact and Business Stream, a total of 158 invitations were given to candidates.   PEI is one of 11 Canadian provinces and territories involved in the Provincial Nominee Program of Canada, which requires them to select a number of Canadian permanent residence immigration applicants each year. Prince Edward Island, or PEI, holds monthly drawings for immigrant applicants who have submitted an Expression of Interest to their PEI PNP immigrant applicant program.   PEI's Express Entry Category is connected to the Federal Express Entry Program, which handles the pool of candidates for three of Canada's major categories of immigration —   
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class, 
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Canadian Experience Class.
  Express Entry applicants who wish to be eligible for a provincial PEI nomination must first complete a separate PEI PNP Expression of Interest (EOI) profile.   Such profiles are given a score based on factors such as English or French training, job experience and skills, and the highest-ranking applicants are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.   Express Entry applicants who have been accepted through the PEI Express Entry Process have 90 days to submit a full application to the Immigration Office of the province from the invitation date.  Applicants selected by PEI receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, leaving them in a strong position to receive a Permanent Residence Invitation to Apply.   The PEI PNP has now issued 1,177 invitations to apply through its Express Entry and Labour Impact categories in 2019. Another 12 invitations were issued to candidates with EOI profile in PEI’s Business Impact.
