CRS Cut-off Score Decreases by Three Points in the Latest Express Entry Draw

Canada has till now issued 75,300 invitation to apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence to Canada to Express Entry candidates in 2019

The Government of Canada has invited 3,600 candidates from the Express Entry Pool to send an application towards the permanent residence of Canada in its new draw which took place on November 13, 2019.

The release of this draw has brought the total number of invitations to apply sent so far in the year 2019 through the Express Entry system for Immigration to Canada equivalent to 75,300.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required under this draw was 472. This cut-off score was three-points less than the previous draw which held on October 30, 2019 and had a CRS cut-off score equivalent to 475.

The Express Entry system comprises of applicants who apply for three different Federal High Skilled immigration categories for Canada. This includes – Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

All the eligible candidates across these three immigration categories are ranked under the Express Entry pool on the basis of the score being awarded to them using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which assesses candidates’ profile on the basis of factors namely age, skilled work experience, education and language proficiency in French and English.

Although required for certain Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), a job offer from a Canadian employer is not mandatory in order to submit your profile in the Express Entry System and receive an invitation to apply (ITA). However, an applicant with a Canadian job offer is awarded with additional points on the overall CRS score in the Express Entry System.

Only the highest-ranked candidates receive an invitation to apply for the permanent residence of Canada through frequent draws from the Express Entry System, which usually takes within a gap of every two weeks.

A tie-break up rule will be applied on the November 13, 2019 draw, according to which all those applicants who have submitted their profiles in the Express Entry Pool on October 8, 2019 at 10:46:01 UTC and have a CRS score above 472 will be issued an ITA from the Government of Canada.
