The provincial government of British Columbia has issued invitations towards provincial nomination towards permanent residence of Canada to the eligible skilled immigrants and also to the Express Entry BC applicants recently on August 7.
A total number of 437 ITAs were issued across various immigration categories of British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) which includes Skilled Worker, International Graduates, Entry Level and also under the Semi-Skilled Worker categories.
The minimum point score for this PNP draw differed depending on the BC PNP immigration subcategory and ranged between 76 and 98 point score.
The two immigration subcategories that were included in the BC PNP draw under the Express Entry BC immigration stream and their respective scores were as follows:
- Skilled Worker category, which required a PNP score of 97.
- International Graduate category, which required a PNP score of 98.
Express Entry BC immigration categories are open to eligible candidates that already have a valid profile submitted towards Federal Express Entry System, which further manages the pool of eligible and skilled candidates for Canada’s three Federal Skilled Immigration programs, which includes Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and also the Canadian Experience Class.
Express Entry applicants who have already applied and have received a provincial nomination towards permanent residence program received additional 600 point scores towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry application and are therefore effectively guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the Canadian PR from the federal Express Entry Draw.
The three immigration subcategories that are included under the Skills Immigration category and their respective scores are as follows:
- Skilled Worker category, which required a PNP score of 97,
- International Graduate, which required a PNP score of 98, and
- Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled, which required a PNP score of 76.
Candidates that are already in the Skilled Worker category, also in other Entry Level and Semi-Skilled and also International Graduate categories are necessarily required to register themselves with the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System or the SIRS after submitting their completed profile towards the BC PNP online system.
SIRS could be described as a points-based system that is used by the BC PNP to assess the candidates based on various factors which includes education, work experience and also proficiency in languages that are English and French.
All the invited Skilled Immigration and also the Express Entry candidates should have an prior full-time job offer from an employer based in British Columbia.
