In the Express Entry draw released on May 13, but made public on May 14 for immigration to Canada, a total of 529 candidates were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). This draw was specifically restricted to only candidates that were having provincial nominations (PNPs). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off for this latest draw was equivalent to 718 points.
Similar to previous month’s rounds of invitation, this draw also continues the IRCC’s trend of inviting only the PNP and CEC candidates. It has therefore, now been more than a month since the last all-program draw, which generally accepts the Federal Skilled Workers immigration category, has been released by the IRCC. A trusted source has however confirmed after direct conversation with the IRCC that the Express Entry draws are limited to only PNP and CEC candidates for the time being mainly due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation across Canada and also other parts of the world. It is unclear how long these restrictions will be imposed in place.
