Express Entry applicants who already had a nomination letter from the province received Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the permanent residence of Canada in the latest May 27 draw.

May 27, 2020

Canada just released the new Express Entry Draw and has invited eligible candidates who already possessed a provincial nomination letter.

A total of 385 ITAs were sent to candidates that were already in the Express Entry pool in the latest May 27 invitation round.

These candidates selected within different Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and existed in the Express Entry pool are being awarded an additional 600 points on their current human capital CRS score. This is the primary reason why the minimum requirement of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for the draw was equivalent to 757 points. Without receiving any additional points through the nomination letter from the province, the candidates invited would have has an original human capital score of 157 points.

This has been the sixth PNP exclusive draw released from the Express Entry System of the federal government of Canada; mainly due to the implementation of special corona virus protective measures in the country from March 18. Canada has been alternatively holding the Express Entry draws since then and is targeting either the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates or the PNP candidates.

The Express Entry draws that are targeting the CEC candidates specifically have been seen to have much lower CRS cut-off. The last CEC-exclusive Express Entry draw sent invitations to candidates with a CRS score as low as 447, which was the lowest score requirement since January 2019.

A tie-break up rule was applied for this draw also. All those candidates that has a CRS score of minimum 757 points and have submitted their profiles before the date April 27, 2020 at 10:19:01 UTC, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from this round of draw.

The dates on which draws are being released have also become more unpredictable than before. Earlier in the year 2020, all-program draw that includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Trades Program (FSTP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates, were taking place in every two weeks duration. Now that the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is holding only targeted draws, they could happen days or even few hours apart from each other.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Providing pathways to Canada immigration

Yes! If the federal Express Entry is not working out due to some specific factor then you can explore other immigration options for migrating to Canada. There are a plenty of other ways to make it happen and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the most prominent pathways among these alternatives to move to Canada.

The Federal Government of Canada is giving more power to all its provinces when it comes to selecting new foreign skilled immigrants. You should be aware that some of the provincial nominations result in an addition of 600-points towards your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry System but some of these PNP streams does not work in direct alignment with the larger Express Entry System.
