The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) announced its latest provincial nomination draw on April 23, 2020 and invited a total of 132 eligible and skilled candidates to apply for its provincial nomination across various categories of the MPNP. The important immigration categories under this draw include Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker in Overseas and the International Graduate Stream.

Insights into the latest MPNP draw held on April 23, 2020

The MPNP draw held on April 23, 2020 was the second draw released by the provincial government of Manitoba in the month of April, as the first MPNP draw for this month took place on April 9, 2020. Find the complete explanation below on the Letters of Advice (LAAs) that were issued through this latest draw and the minimum requirement of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

  1. Skilled Workers in Manitoba

  • Total Number of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued: 93
  • Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidates invited: 489

  1. Skilled Worker Overseas

  • Strategic Recruitment Initiative: The total number of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) issued were equivalent to 25 and exclusively includes those who were invited directly by the MPNP under its Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
  • Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited to apply: 714

  1. International Education Stream

  • Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 14

Out of the total 132 invitations to apply (ITA) issued in the recent MPNP draw, 7 nominations were issued to those applicants with their profile entered in the Express Entry System and also with the job seeker validation code. Manitoba has been consistent in releasing its PNP draws and inviting skilled workers, despite the ongoing situation of COVID-19 across all nations, which in turn is making many aspiring candidates relieved for immigration to Canada.

Skilled Worker Overseas Stream of MPNP

This immigration stream under the MPNP specifically issues LAAs to those candidates who exhibit a previous and established connection with the province of Manitoba via:

  • support of a family member or a close friend;
  • past education or employment in the province; and
  • ITA (Invitation to Apply) received directly from the MPNP under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Provincial Nomination Program - Express Entry Stream

All those eligible candidates who apply under the Express Entry linked immigration stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program (MPNP) or for instance, any other PNP program across all the Canadian immigration programs and are able to receive the nomination of LAA become eligible to be granted an additional 600 points towards their total CRS points in their respective Express Entry account.

Therefore, the Express Entry associated immigration stream of the MPNP or any other PNP allows the candidates to gain extra CRS points in their Express Entry profile and are guaranteed to receive the PR invitation from the Federal Government of Canada, being distributed by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

So, if you have not been able to get through the Federal Express Entry program, then applying through the PNP nominations will allow you to increase your CRS score to receive the invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada immigration.
