The provincial nomination program of British Columbia has invited applicants in the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC immigration categories
The latest Tech Pilot draw announced by the province of British Columbia has invited a total of 74 skilled candidates to apply for the provincial nominee program for the permanent residence of Canada on September 22.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot Draw which took place recently has issued invitations to eligible candidates, mainly under two immigration categories that are, Skills immigration and Express Entry BC categories.
All those selected candidates that were from the Skilled Worker and also from the International Graduate immigration subcategories are required to have minimum provincial score equivalent to 80 points.
The recent draw particularly displayed that the minimum score has remained low and that around 80 points as has been a similar case for the Tech Pilot draws since the start of the month of May of this year.
The BC PNP Tech Pilot Draw can be explained as a fast-track immigration route for the international students as well as the in-demand tech workers.
The Tech Pilot immigration project was started in the year 2017 and has been extended several times since then as the latest extension has been provided until June 2021.
In order to get selected and be considered as an eligible applicant for this immigration pathway, applicants are required to be registered under one of the currently operational provincial immigration streams of the British Columbia and also should have a valid job offer of a minimum of 1 year in of the 29 eligible occupations of the Tech Pilot program.
To apply for the Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration categories, the applicant should first create an Expression of Interest and submit the profile through the online portal of the BCPNP and also register themselves under their Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
All applicants are then assessed and are given a score that in turn determines whether they should be invited and be given a nomination letter in the subsequent invitation round. The total score achieved is based on the range of human capital factors that include education level, employment experience and having a job offer letter from the province.
Express Entry candidates who also received a nomination from the provincial government of British Columbia are awarded with additional 600 points towards their existing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry application and are guaranteed with an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Federal Express Entry Draw.
Federal Express Entry draws takes place twice in a month and issue invitations to approximately 4000 eligible candidates to apply for the permanent residence of Canada.
Till now in September, British Columbia has released 6 draws through its many PNP immigration categories and has invited approximately 1000 candidates to apply for their provincial nominee program.
Invited candidates are given 30 days time to apply for the nomination.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Providing pathways to Canada immigration
Yes! If the federal Express Entry is not working out due to the current pandemic situation or some specific factor then you can explore other immigration options for migrating to Canada. There are a plenty of other ways to make it happen and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the most prominent pathways among these alternatives to move to Canada.
The Federal Government of Canada is giving more power to all its provinces when it comes to selecting new foreign skilled immigrants. You should be aware that some of the provincial nominations result in an addition of 600-points towards your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry System but some of these PNP streams does not work in direct alignment with the larger Express Entry System.
