The provincial government of Saskatchewan has invited applicants with prior work experience in one of 81 occupations. More details below.

A new draw released by the Saskatchewan PNP recently on September 24, 2020 has issued invitations to a total of 535 skilled professionals to apply for the permanent residence program of Canada.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has given invitations to eligible candidates from the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand immigration categories.

The SINP has invited a total of 2,704 candidates from the Occupations In-Demand immigration category so far in the year 2020. This when combined with the 2,245 candidates that were invited to apply under the provincial nominee program through the Express Entry subcategory of SINP, the total number of ITAs being issued in the year 2020 is now approximately 5000.

In order to get considered, candidates are required to have already submitted the Expression of Interest (EOI) profile towards the  Saskatchewan immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

The provincial government of Saskatchewan uses the EOI system to send invitations to skilled candidates that have displayed the necessary potential to survive in the province to apply for their provincial nominee program for the permanent residence of Canada.

Interested candidates, therefore, should create and submit an EOI profile towards the provincial government and must demonstrate their ability to start their professional and personal life in Saskatchewan by sharing details about their work experience, education, English language proficiency skills, age and also any connection with the province.

The SINP uses these five factors to evaluate the candidates and then scoring is done out of 100 using the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. Those candidates who score highest are then being issued a nomination letter or an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the provincial nomination and therefore to apply for the permanent residence of Canada.

The minimum score which is required for the latest September 24 draw was equivalent to 82 points under both the immigration subcategories.

No job offer was required in order to get considered for the invitation from the province of Saskatchewan. However, candidates are required to have a minimum of one-year of employment experience in an eligible and in-demand occupation which again should be related to their previous field of study.

Invited candidates under both the immigration categories also should have completed their Education Credentials Assessment (ECA) which directly implies that how their foreign academic degrees and diplomas are comparable with respect to Canadian credentials.

Express Entry Sub-Category

In the recent SINP draw, the province of Saskatchewan has issued a total of 455 ITAs to candidates who have already submitted their profiles towards the federal Express Entry Pool.

The Express Entry System manages the pool of all those eligible applicants that have applied for towards the Canadian permanent residence program through three most prominent main economic class immigration programs operated by the federal government of Canada: Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

If applicants in the federal Express Entry pool also submitted their EOI for the Saskatchewan and they scores a point score equivalent to 68 points on the SINP point assessment grid they must have received an invitation to apply or a nomination letter in this latest draw.

Further, all the Express Entry candidates who apply towards the provincial nomination program and also receive a nomination letter from the provincial government of Saskatchewan are awarded an extra 600 points towards their existing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. These extra points then effectively guarantee that the candidate will receive an invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence in the next Federal Express Entry Draw.

The same applied for candidates that have been chosen from any of the provincial nominee programs across Canada and are aligned with the Federal Express Entry System.

Occupation In-Demand sub-category

The Occupation In-Demand sub-category of the SINP PNP is valid for those immigration candidates who are not having a Federal Express Entry profile.

There are a total of 166 Occupations In-Demand applicants that were invited to apply for the provincial nomination program and similar to the Express Entry sub-category, these candidates also needed to have a provincial score equivalent to 68 points in order to be considered for the nomination and immigration.

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Providing pathways to Canada immigration

Yes! If the federal Express Entry is not working out due to the current pandemic situation or some specific factor then you can explore other immigration options for migrating to Canada. There are a plenty of other ways to make it happen and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the most prominent pathways among these alternatives to move to Canada.

The Federal Government of Canada is giving more power to all its provinces when it comes to selecting new foreign skilled immigrants. You should be aware that some of the provincial nominations result in an addition of 600-points towards your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry System but some of these PNP streams does not work in direct alignment with the larger Express Entry System.
