Alberta issues 294 invitations to Express Entry candidates
New invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence from the province of Alberta focused on immigration applicants with a profile in Canada's Express Entry scheme. September 12, 2019: Alberta announced on August 28 the results of the Alberta Express Entry draw. Alberta also announced that 4,115 nomination certificates have been issued in 2019 so far. For the 2019 calendar year, the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) may issue up to 6,000 nominations. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) establishes this boundary. Approximately 1,640 applications are awaiting eligibility evaluation. To obtain an invitation, the 294 applicants chosen required a minimum of 400 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of Express Entry. This minimum score was 38 points below the smallest score drawn in the 2019 invitation round of a federal Express Entry, which was 438 on January 30. This was August's second draw through its Alberta Express Entry Stream, allowing the province to search for applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria of the stream for the federal Express Entry scheme. On August 15, a previous draw released 121 invitations to applicants with CRS scores of Express Entry as low as 400. “If you have a score that’s below those being drawn through Express Entry, there are still many other potential opportunities,” To qualify for the Alberta Express Entry Stream, no job offer or prior work experience in Alberta is needed. Nevertheless, candidates should work in an occupation that promotes the economic development and diversification goals of the province. A list of qualified occupations is not provided by the province. Application volumes by occupation The AINP has a high volume of applications and Alberta Expression Entry submissions in the following occupations. These submissions may take longer to process. 6311 – Foodservice supervisors 6322 – Cooks 6211 – Retail sales supervisors 1241 – Administrative assistants 0621 – Retail and wholesale trade managers 1311 – Accounting technicians and bookkeepers 1221 – Administrative officers 0631 – Restaurant and food service managers 4212 – Social and community service workers 4214 – Early childhood educators and assistants The AINP says it may give priority to candidates with:- a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta;
