Alberta’s provincial government has
Alberta held a new provincial nominee draw on June 22 and has invited a total of 184 Express Entry applicants to apply for under its provincial nomination.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) released further details of its latest PNP draw. The same implies that in order to receive the invitation, the candidate is required to have their profile submitted towards the Express Entry System and that with a minimum score of 300 points. It is now second time in the row that the province has issued invitation with the same minimum score requirement for the invitation. The last draw held on June 5.
The province of Alberta till now has invited a total of 2284 Express Entry applicants to apply for its provincial nomination program since the PNP programs have resumed their invitation rounds in the month of January 2021 after the pandemic restrictions started easing out.
A spokesperson for the government of Alberta confirmed that immigration will always remain an important part for the Alberta’s social and economic development and particularly during the current times when the province is recovering from the pandemic situation. The Government of Alberta clearly recognizes the relevance of attracting skilled and talented professionals for supporting the creation of new and sustainable employment opportunities and grow the economy of the province.
How does the Alberta Express Entry Stream work?
Express Entry System is the main application management system of Canada for the three renowned Federal High Skilled Immigration streams, which includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
Eligible immigration applicants are given a score point on the basis of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). These points are awarded to the candidates for human capital factors which the government has determined and assists the prospective candidates that have applied for immigration to succeed in the Canadian labour market. These factors include the applicant’s age, education, and employment experience, language proficiency in English and French, along with others.
In a gap of every weeks, the immigration department of Canada, IRCC, holds Express Entry Draw, thereby inviting applicants to apply for immigration to Canada. All the highest scoring candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the permanent residence of Canada. If they get approved, then they receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence Visa which then enables them to proceed towards the final step and make their landing in Canada, after which they become the official permanent residents of Canada.
If the applicants who receive an invitation to apply from the provincial government of Alberta receive the provincial nomination, they automatically get awarded with 600 additional CRS points towards their existing scores in the EOI. Given that majority of the Express Entry draws have a minimum CRS cut-off requirement of 400 points, the additional points added in their profile therefore effectively guarantees that the selected provincial nominees will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the subsequent Express Entry round of invitation released by the Federal Government of Canada.
Eligibility for an Alberta Nomination
Applicants that are already in the Express Entry Pool have the opportunity to receive an invitation from the Provincial Nomination from Alberta; along with other provinces which are Express Entry aligned PNPs. These candidates are required to have the valid work experience in one of the eligible occupations that helps in supporting the economic development of the country.
The provincial government of Alberta was allowed to issue a total of 6,250 nomination certificates in the year 2021.
