Since the beginning of the year, British Columbia has issued 7041 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination. Two draws for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) were held in British Columbia on August 3, 2021, and 374 applicants were invited to apply. As part of its PNP programme, British Columbia has been conducting two different rounds of invites twice a month since February. The province conducts a general draw as well as a second draw for retail and wholesale trade managers, as well as restaurant and food service managers. According to the province's information, the second draw is being held owing to a high number of persons registered in the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) with these two occupations. The province hopes that by holding these extra draws, it will be able to balance the requirements in all areas of the provincial labour market. General draw invitations were issued to candidates in the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). Invitations were sent to people in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the SI and EEBC streams, respectively. For that draw, the minimum scores ranged from 74 to 91 points. There were a total of 361 applicants. Candidates whose occupation falls within NOC 0621 or NOC 0631 were targeted in a separate draw under the SI and EEBC categories. The draw generated 13 invites with a total score of 107.
