The provincial nominee program of British Columbia has invited candidates to apply for their permanent residence program recently on January 26, 2021.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program, which is prominently known as the BC PNP has issued a total of 81 invitations through its Skills Immigration and the Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams.
The EEBC stream of the British Columbia PNP is designed for those candidates that have a valid Expression of Interest submitted towards the Express Entry System of the Federal Government, which is one of the main pathways for the eligible professional workers to obtain their permanent residence visa of Canada.
The Skills Immigration Stream on the other hand, is for those skilled and semi-skilled workers that have their occupations in high demand across the province of British Columbia.
Candidates were invited from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate immigration subcategories of the BC PNP Tech Pilot. All the invited candidates are required to have a job offer in one of the eligible tech occupations in order to receive the notification of interest. The minimum score required for all these candidates to receive the nomination in this recent draw was 80 across all categories.
BC releases draws through two PNP categories and stream every week.
In order to apply for the Skills Immigration or the Express Entry BC categories, applicants should first create an Expression of Interest in the BC PNP’s online portal and register themselves under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Applicants are assessed and issued a score on the basis of the factors that includes level of education, work experience, proficiency in the English language and also the location of their employment.
If an applicant gets approval on their application, then they can use their nomination to apply for the permanent residence through the Express Entry System which is directly operated by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Express Entry candidates who receive a nomination from the provincial nominee program of British Columbia will be then awarded an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of the Express Entry profiles, thereby increasing their chances to get considered and receive an ITA in the subsequent federal express entry draw.
The British Columbia PNP is one of the provincial nominee programs of Canada. Through these programs, the provincial governments can nominate the new professionals who have the potential and eligibility to settle in the province and contribute towards their local economy.
British Columbia is known for attracting professionals with innovative ideas and tech expertise, and its controlled and mild climatic conditions and also proximity with the US are also one of the important factors in attracting businesses and workers in the province.
The province of British Columbia has conducted a total of 5 draws since the month of January, where the minimum score has ranged between 77 to 106 points. In addition to the tech workers, the province of BC continues to attract professional and graduates associated with the non-tech occupations on a frequent basis.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs): Providing pathways to Canada immigration
Yes! If the federal Express Entry is not working out due to the current pandemic situation or some specific factor then you can explore other immigration options for migrating to Canada. There are a plenty of other ways to make it happen and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is one of the most prominent pathways among these alternatives to move to Canada.
The Federal Government of Canada is giving more power to all its provinces when it comes to selecting new foreign skilled immigrants. You should be aware that some of the provincial nominations result in an addition of 600-points towards your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry System but some of these PNP streams does not work in direct alignment with the larger Express Entry System.
