In an exclusive interview with CIC News, the Immigration Minister stated that IRCC plans to restart all Express Entry draws on July 6.
On June 22, Canada welcomed 636 Express Entry applicants to apply for permanent residency.
All invited applicants had previously been nominated by a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and scored at least 752 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
The minimal score was particularly high since Express Entry candidates receive an automatic 600-point boost when they are nominated by a province. Without the nomination, the candidates with the lowest score would have received 152 base points.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) welcomed 932 Express Entry candidates having scores of at least 796 in the previous draw.
