Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released invitations to apply (ITAs) in the latest Express Entry draw.
In this category-based selection draw, 1,800 ITAs were issued specifically for candidates in trade occupations.
To be eligible, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 433.
This marks the first category-based draw for trade occupations since July 4, when IRCC also invited 1,800 candidates, requiring a minimum score of 436. Additionally, it is the first non-French proficiency category-based draw since July 5.

Today's draw is the third Express Entry draw of the week. The previous draw on October 22 invited 400 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), with a minimum CRS score of 539. Additionally, a draw for Express Entry candidates with a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination occurred on October 21, inviting 648 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 791.
In recent months, IRCC has established a pattern of conducting multiple Express Entry draws every other week, typically including draws specific to the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
This trend underscores IRCC’s commitment to increasing the number of domestic draws for Express Entry candidates currently living and working in Canada as temporary residents. This strategy aims to help the department reduce the number of temporary residents while also meeting the annual target for new permanent residents outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan.
The next plan is expected to be released by November 1 of this year, detailing targets for 2025-2027. The goal for 2024 is to welcome 110,770 newcomers, although it has not yet been confirmed if IRCC has met that target.
Candidates receiving an ITA in the second half of the year are more likely to be admitted in 2025, as IRCC aims to process Express Entry Program within a standard timeframe of six months.
