Ottawa, 29 June 2021— Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will offer Express Entry candidates who get an invitation to apply 60 days to complete their permanent residence application starting June 29, 2021.
In response to the problems clients encountered in obtaining the appropriate paperwork, the invitation to apply term for permanent residency was expanded from 60 to 90 days at the start of the epidemic to give them more time to complete their applications.
Returning to the 60-day period will help IRCC handle greater quantities of applications in a timely manner as Canada continues to welcome more newcomers, as indicated in the multi-year immigration levels plan. Clients who are unable to finish applications owing to the pandemic's effects will continue to get assistance.
Clients who were asked to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry before June 29, 2021, will have 90 days to complete their application.
The Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and a component of the Provincial Nominee Program are all managed through Express Entry, Canada's flagship applicant management system.
