Express Entry draw figures for April 9 double draw are described as follows.
In the first Express Entry draw released in the month of April for immigration to Canada, a total of 606 candidates were being issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). However, the latest April 9, 2020 draw was restricted only to candidates that have received nomination from any of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for this draw was 698 points.
Moving ahead, in the second Express Entry draw that was also released on April 9, a total of 3,294 candidates were being issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). This particular draw was restricted specifically to candidates that have applied under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) of the Express Entry System. The CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited in this draw is 464 points.
It has been more than a month since the last all-program draw was released by the IRCC. It has been assumed that the Express Entry draws might have been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 situation across the world, through its hard to predict the exact as IRCC has not yet released any explicit statement in this regard.
Why was the Express Entry April 9 double-draw restricted only to PNP and CEC candidates?
This is the second time in the last two months in which IRCC has limited the Express Entry draw for candidates and have only invited those that have applied through the provincial nomination program (PNP) and also the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). While the exact reason for limiting these draws categories is not evident, we can assume that it could be related to COVID-19 health crisis.
There is no prediction as to when will the next Express Entry draw will occur and also if the subsequent draw will include candidates from all the immigration programs of the Express Entry System. The most recent all-program draw was released more than a month ago on March 4, 2020.
