Skill Select round that will be held in the month of June 2019 will have only 100 invitations for the Independent Skilled Stream that has been confirmed by the Department of Immigration to the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA). Another 10 invitations will be for the Skilled-Regional Provisional (subclass 489) Family Sponsored Stream.   Application processing time for the candidates who are invited and have already applied for a visa will not be affected as there is an effort to manage the applications in the pipeline for the immigration process.   There has been a reduction for the 2019-20 migration ceiling for the Skilled Independent Category (including the subclass 189 New Zealand stream) to 18,652 places. This is a significant decrease in comparison to the previous year which implies that there is a need for management of the applications to keep issuing the invitations for each month in 2019-20 program years.   The new regional visa that is being implemented in November 2019 has already changed the workflow process of Immigration to tackle the increase in the number of applications.   Round of invitations on - 11 June, is not going to be up to the mark for many applicants, but with the beginning of the new financial year from 1st June, there is hope to see some positives with the new monthly invitation quotas and new State nomination lists.
