Manitoba draw issued 193 invitations to skilled worker candidates

  In the recent draw held on October 10, the province of Manitoba invited a total of 194 candidates to apply for their provincial nomination program for the Canadian permanent residence.   These invitations to apply (ITAs), which are formally known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA)were issued to only those candidates that have their profiles already registered under the three main streams of immigration from Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP):  Manitoba’s Skilled Workers, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education Stream.   Manitoba has issued 6,574 LAAs so far this year to immigration candidates using these three pathways.

  SKILLED WORKERS IN MANITOBA  
  • Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 147
  • Ranking score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 567
  Eligibility: The applicant needs to be temporary foreign workers and/or international graduates from Manitoba’s post-secondary educational institutes.   Further, in order to be consideredunderMPNP, the candidate should be working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer received from their employer, while satisfying other eligibility criteria.   INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION STREAM  
  • Numbers of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 24
  Eligibility: Those candidates that are graduated from Manitoba and possess specific in-demand skills would be invited through this pathway.   This stream further includes three sub-categories: Graduate Internship Pathway, Career Employment Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.   SKILLED WORKERS OVERSEAS   Number of Letters of Advice to Apply issued: 22 individuals that were given direct invitation through the MPNP under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative  
  • Ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited: 718
  Eligibility: The candidates under this stream were invited via a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which mainly includes overseas recruitment missions organized through the MPNP, done in association with Manitoba employers. In addition, candidates selected through this category are also ranked using Manitoba’s EOI scoring system.   EXPRESS ENTRY   Of the 193 LAAs issued on October 10 draw, a total of 24 candidates were invited through the federal Express Entry system. Candidates who become eligible for the Express Entry pool are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that evaluates applicants on the basis of various human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.   The highest-scoring candidates are sent an invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence via regular draws from the Express Entry pool.   Further, the candidates who receive a provincial nomination are also awarded an additional 600 CRS points thereby receiving a guaranteed invitation to apply from Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).   In order to be considered for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), the Express Entry candidates should have an eligible work experience listed in Manitoba’s in-demand occupations, along with other important requirements.
