Candidates invited under the Express Entry System

Out of the 186 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) issued in the latest draw released by the province of Manitoba, 24 were received by those eligible applicants who already have their profile in the Express Entry pool.

The Express Entry System is an online system that is used by the federal government of Canada to manage applications for permanent residence (PR) received from skilled workers for three important Economic-Class immigration categories: The Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.

Express Entry candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which evaluates various human capital factors that includes age, education, work experience and language proficiency. The highest-scoring candidates are then sent an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence of Canada through regular Express Entry draws.

Express Entry candidates who are being issued a provincial nomination are awarded with extra 600 CRS points, which surely guarantee receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence of Canada in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

In order to get considered to get a provincial nomination from Manitoba, candidates with their profile in the Express Entry system should have an eligible work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba’s government, along with other requirements.

It is also mandatory for them to submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) towards the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program (MPNP).

Expression of Interest

In order to get invited under the provincial nomination from the province of Manitoba through the Federal Skilled Worker Program in Manitoba and Federal Skilled Worker Overseas immigration categories, candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) towards the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

An Expression of Interest (EOI) is an online profile of a candidate that is ranked on a score of 1,000. Points are awarded to candidates on the basis of their education, work experience, English or French proficiency, connections to Manitoba, along with other factors.

A particular number of highest-scoring candidates receive a Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA), thereby making them eligible to apply for the provincial nomination program of Manitoba and therefore for the Canadian permanent residence.

In the recent draw, the lowest-ranked candidate that is being invited through the Federal Skilled Worker Program under the Manitoba Stream had scored 534 points.

The lowest-ranked candidate being invited from the pool of Federal Skilled Worker Overseas Stream had scored 708 points.

Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba

The Skilled Worker Overseas Category of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program’s (MPNP’s) enables the MPNP to select and then nominate skilled international workers who have the ability to support the labour market needs of the province of Manitoba.

Candidates should already have a prior and established connection with Manitoba which includes close family or friends, work experience or previous education completed from the province, or an invitation received from one of the Strategic Recruitment Initiatives of MPNP, along with other requirements.

Also, these relatives are not needed to be present in Manitoba at the time of application submission in order for you to qualify.

The 42 candidates that are being invited through the MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas Stream were invited directly by the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the provincial government of Manitoba.

Candidates invited through the Federal Skilled Worker Category are required to be working anywhere across the province and should also have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer based in Manitoba, along with fulfilling other eligibility criteria.

International Education Stream

Manitoba graduates that also possess the required in-demand skills many also get an invitation through the International Education Stream.

This immigration stream includes three sub-categories, that are, Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway and Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
