The Canadian Government in a recent move to bring in more changes under the Permanent Residency game announced significant modification in the norms followed in Express Entry program. In a bid to draw more capable applicants to Canada, Ahmed Hussen, Immigration Minister of Canada, announced certain changes in the express entry on 5th June 2017 (Monday), in the hall of Immigration Center in Markham (Ontario) informing that prospective Permanent Residency candidates can garner more points for having siblings already residing in the country and also the applicants having strong grasp over the French language will be awarded with additional points. Express Entry program, started as an initiative to speed up the process of Permanent Resident network, works on the basis of point system awarded to an applicant as per their background, education details, training, language proficiency and work experience among other parameters. As per the changes brought in, the applicant now will also be awarded 15 points for having a sibling in Canada who should be either 18 or above in age living as a Permanent Resident or as Canadian citizen. This change was decided upon as it has been analyzed that the applicants already having sibling in Canada has a much easier time in getting connected with the society of Canada. The applicants can also garner up to 30 points as per the proficiency in French deduced on the basis of their language test. These points are nowhere affected by the efficiency shown by the candidate in their English language. The reason for this change is quite simple as it has been seen that French language skilled applicants have certain ability to bring in more growth and stability to Canadian economy. As of Tuesday, 6th June 2017, applicants will also not be asked to create on compulsory basis an account under Job Bank in the scenario where no job offer is available with them.
