Ontario immigration must begin to focus on specific technology occupations in the latest technical issues of the Express Entry Pool. The draws are designed to fill the technology gap in Canada's largest province.

The new technology draws will focus on six specific NOC codes, in keeping with the current human capital priorities of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (O.I.N.P).

The six professions are:

  1. Computer and Information Systems Managers (NOC 0213)
  2. Database Analysts and Data Administrators (NOC 2172)
  3. Web Designers and Developers (NOC 2175)
  4. Computer Engineers (NOC 2147)
  5. Programmers and Interactive Media Developers (NOC 2174)
  6. Software Engineers and Designers (NOC 2173)

Applicants must meet current human capital requirements and have qualified work experience in one of the listed occupations. In this way, we are helping technology companies find it easier to hire the best talent from around the world, "said an Ontario police release.

Selected candidates in the Express Entry Pool receive a Notice of Interest through their account in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRC).

Then they have 45 days to provide a complete application. As part of the current focus on technology occupations, Ontario has also established a unique team of corporate immigration services.

Requirements for Ontari’s Human Capital Priorities:

  1. The current profile under the Federal Express Entry system and is suitable for models F.S.W.P or C.E.C.
  2. Have a diploma similar to a bachelor's degree or a higher degree in Canada.
  3. Demonstrate the language skills of the CLB or CLB's minimum level 7 in English or French.
  4. Plan to live in the province of Ontario.
  5. Proof of settlement funds requested.
  6. Express Entry CRS minimum score determined by the director after the draw for the period.
