Ontario has given out 746 invitations through a draw in the Skilled Trades Stream.

On March 23, 2023, the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) conducted a selection process and invited 746 immigrants through the Skilled Trade Stream of Ontario Express Entry.

The selection was made for the immigration profiles that were established between March 23, 2022, and March 23, 2023, through the Express Entry System of Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Notification of Interest (NOI) was given to immigrants who had Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 250 to 489.

Applicants who possessed previous employment background in the specified National Occupational Classification codes were extended an invitation.

What are the least qualifications necessary to be eligible for Ontario Express Entry's Skilled Trade Stream?

To be eligible for the OINP, the applicant needs to have worked in Ontario for a total of one year, on a full-time basis and with pay, within the two years leading up to the application submission date.

Additionally, the applicant's job must belong to the categories listed under Ontario Major Groups 72, 73, 82, 83, 93, or Minor Group 6320 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

To be eligible, you need to have a proficiency level of 5 or above in either English or French Language according to the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB).

What is the process for submitting an application for the Skilled Trade Stream of Ontario Express Entry?

Step 1 - Confirm that you meet the requirements for Express Entry.

Step 2 - Generate a record in the Express Entry System operated by IRCC.

Step 3 - Upon getting a Notification of Interest (NOI) via the Skilled Trade Stream of Express Entry, apply for permanent residence within 45 days of receiving the NOI.

Step 4 - As you submit your application, pay the application fee of $1500.
