The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Immigration Stream draw is the second OINP Express-Entry aligned draw released in the last two days and the largest under the category so far
May 1, 2020
The latest draw released by the province of Ontario has issued Invitation to Invite (ITA) exclusively to the bilingual Express Entry skilled applicants on April 30.
The candidates selected in the draw may become eligible for immigrating to Canada under the Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) immigration stream.
This is one of the largest draw of OINP under the FSSW stream for the year 2020 so far, in which 307 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) have been given to eligible candidates. The first draw of similar kind announced this year, held on January 9, invited a total of 242 bilingual candidates to apply for the Ontario’s provincial nomination program (OINP) for the permanent residence visa of Canada.
These invited candidates will be contacted by the provincial government of Ontario. They will be given 45 days time to apply online for their provincial nomination.
Since all the skilled and talented individuals who are being contacted in today’s draw have their Expression of Interest already submitted in the Express Entry Pool, therefore receiving the provincial nomination from the Ontario would therefore give them additional 600 points towards their total Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points in their overall Express Entry score.
This award will therefore guarantee that these candidates will be given an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the permanent residence of Canada in the subsequent federal government’s Express Entry Draw.
Express Entry System is an application management system which operates the profiles submitted mainly through three federal immigration programs, which includes the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates are ranked based on the human capital factors which are determined by the Canadian government and helps the candidates thrive in the Canadian labour market. This mainly includes, age, employment experience, education, English and French language proficiency.
For the FSSW category, candidates are necessarily required to meet the eligibility requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or that of the Federal Skilled Worker Program and also should have the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of minimum seven bands in the French test and six in the English test among other eligibility requirements.
This is the Ontario’s second Express Entry aligned draw in the two days, the draw which held on April 29 targeted eligible and skilled candidates across 14 skills trade occupations.
The Federal Government of Canada is giving more power to all its provinces when it comes to selecting new foreign skilled immigrants. You should be aware that some of the provincial nominations result in an addition of 600-points towards your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry System but some of these PNP streams does not work in direct alignment with the larger Express Entry System.
