Through the province's Expression of Interest system, Prince Edward Island conducted a draw.
The pre-programmed immigration draw for Prince Edward Island was held on 15 July. A total of 127 applicants were invited through their Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP).
The majority of the invites, 118, went to the candidates for Express Entry and Labor Impact. The other nine of these invites went to candidates of business impact with an immigration system of at least 60 points.
The Canadian maritime province is holding its seventh draw of the year. PEI welcomed 1,032 people, with 934 coming from the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams and 98 from the Business Impact stream.
PNPs allow provinces and territories in Canada to choose immigrants who fit their labor market demands. This is true of Prince Edward Island, which follows federally authorized rules for administering the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). The next PNP draw for Prince Edward Island is expected for August 19.
