Quebec Release the Details About 1st Month Draw Details Using Arrima

Premier Francois Legault said, “In the first five years of arrival, too many newcomers did not find a job and too few spoke French.”   New statistics indicate that Quebec is fulfilling its commitment to decreasing its immigrant share in 2019, but the province has cut profoundly in the skilled worker category, which runs counter to the stated objectives of the government.   The number of immigrants to Quebec in the economic category fell by 32 percent over the same period in 2018 in the first six months of 2019. The province has so far accepted 41 percent fewer qualified employees in that category than it did in last year's first six months.   Quebec has held two draws since the launch of the Arrima scheme and invited 950 applicants to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).   The first round of invitations through the portal of Arrima was announced on July 4, 2019. This draw awarded a total of 691 invitations to applicants who had completed a QSW request after implementing Quebec's contentious Bill 9 and who had submitted an Interest Expression before December 17, 2019. Selected candidates had to either:
  • Be staying in Quebec on June 16th, 2019 with a study or work permit
  • Were a temporary resident of Quebec when they applied.
Thirteen days later, the second round of invitations from Arrima took place. The 259 candidates chosen in the draw on 17 July to meet the following requirements.
  • Had a valid job offer in Quebec
  • Were staying as a foreign national in Quebec, including diplomats, consular officers, foreign country representatives or officials.
A single applicant must score at least 50 points in order to qualify for immigration to Canada as a skilled worker selected by Quebec. Potential immigrants applying with a wife or common-law partner must score a minimum of 59 points to qualify for the QSW Program.   The MIDI said there will be several invitation rounds between now and January 16, 2020. Information was updated on the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity, and Inclusion (MIDI) webpage on August 19.   Immigration Experts best Immigration Consultant will help you to resolve all of your Canadian/Australian immigration-related queries.
