The province of Saskatchewan has invited eligible and skilled candidates through its news Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand Immigration Streams that have a work experience in one of the 62 occupations.
July 09, 2021
Saskatchewan has issued invitations to a total of 295 skilled candidates to apply for their provincial nomination program in the new provincial draw which took place on July 08. If the candidates invited under the provincial nomination also receive a subsequent nomination, they will be one step closer to apply for the permanent residence visa of Canada.
The invitations were being received by those potential immigration candidates who were found to be eligible to receive the nomination letter form the provincial nominee program of Saskatchewan, which is more prominently known as Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), specifically through the International Skilled Worker immigration category. Of all those individuals that were invited under this latest draw, 99 were eligible under the SINP’s Express Entry Subcategory and the other 196 candidates nominated in the draw were from the Occupations In-Demand Sub- Category.
Regardless of the immigration stream, the candidates invited are required to have their Expression of Interest submitted towards the Saskatchewan PNP with a minimum score of 80 in order to be considered for an invitation to apply in this latest SINP draw. They are also required to have Educational Credential Assessment to demonstrate the validity of their international education that should be comparable with the Canadian education standards.
They are also required to have work experience completed in any one of the 62 in-demand occupations that are mentioned in the list approved by the provincial government and can be found on their official website. Some of the occupations that were selected in this draw include utilities managers, miners, medical laboratory technicians and others.
Occupation In-Demand subcategory
The Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category could be described as a base Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) which implies that it is open for all those immigration applicants who have their profiles not being submitted towards the Express Entry Pool.
This sub-category of immigration is for all those highly skilled and professional workers that have experience in one of the in-demand occupations in the province, and also who do not have a prior employment offer from the province.
In order to apply for the immigration to Canada through this provincial sub-category, international applicants are required to create the Expression of Interest (EOI) profile through the Saskatchewan’s online application management system.
The EOI System of Saskatchewan enables the province to select the immigration candidates that have the potential to thrive in the province. Candidates are evaluated on the basis of their work experience, language proficiency, education, age and prior connection with the province which explicitly demonstrates their ability to live and work in the province.
These candidates are then given a score out of 100 on the basis of Points Assessment Grid of the Saskatchewan’s International Skilled Worker. The highest-scoring applicants are then issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the provincial nomination to apply towards the permanent residence of Canada.
Express Entry Sub-Category
In order to be considered in this round of invitation of SINP, the selected candidates need to have their profiles already submitted towards the federal Express Entry Pool.
The provincial government of Saskatchewan uses the EOI system to make a selection of candidates that possess most potential to perform in the province. Selected candidates are required to demonstrate their commitment towards upgrading the socio-economic value of Saskatchewan by demonstrating their employment experience, education, language proficiency skills, age and also any connection with the province.
The Express Entry Immigration System manages the pool of all those eligible applicants that have applied for towards the Canadian permanent residence program through three most prominent main economic class immigration programs operated by the federal government of Canada: Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class and the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
If applicants in the federal Express Entry pool also submitted their EOI for the Saskatchewan and they scores a point score equivalent to 80 points on the SINP point assessment grid they must have received an invitation to apply or a nomination letter in this new draw.
Further, all the Express Entry candidates who apply towards the provincial nomination program and also receive a nomination letter from the provincial government of Saskatchewan are awarded an extra 600 points towards their existing Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. These extra points then effectively guarantee that the candidate will receive an invitation to apply for the Canadian permanent residence in the next Federal Express Entry Draw.
The same applied for candidates that have been chosen from any of the provincial nominee programs across Canada and are aligned with the Federal Express Entry System.
