• As in prior years, candidates must first submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) before being chosen based on merit for visa nomination.
• Up until May 2023, ROIs will be evaluated.
• The 2022–23 programme encourages applicants who were not chosen to apply in the 2021–22 academic year to submit a new Registration of Interest.
• They will choose candidates for the subclass 190 visa in all qualifying occupations from among those who reside outside of Australia in addition to those who reside in Victoria.
• Applicants living overseas may also apply for the subclass 491 visa, albeit they should note that they are currently giving health occupations priority for nomination.
• Applicants are no longer required to use STEMM skills or work in a specific industry, and any occupations on the applicable Department of Home Affairs occupation list are now eligible.
