Canada conducted an Express Entry draw for PNP applicants on May 10, in which the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off was set at 691 points. This marks the initial PNP-only draw organized by IRCC after March 1, 2023.
Kindly be advised that it may require a maximum of 24 hours for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to become visible in your account with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The focus will be on observing the Express Entry draws that are specifically aimed at certain groups
Bill C-19, which granted IRCC the authority to conduct “category-based” Express Entry draws, received royal assent on June 23, marking almost a year since then. Initially, IRCC had announced that the draws would begin in the first quarter of 2023, but later postponed the estimated start date to spring. As we enter the summer season, we are still anticipating witnessing the nature of these focused draws.
Publicly, officials from IRCC have implied that the selection process would depend on economic factors, including occupation, education, language proficiency, and possibly even geographical location.
At what time is the subsequent Express Entry draw expected to occur?
A public timetable of upcoming Express Entry draws is not available, making it impossible to determine the exact date of the next draw. Nonetheless, in the past, IRCC has generally held Express Entry draws every two weeks, specifically on Wednesdays. Nevertheless, Express Entry draws can be held on other weekdays, and the duration between two consecutive draws can be longer or shorter than usual.
