Canada invites 400 Express Entry Candidates from the Canadian Experience Class

Today’s draw marks the third Express Entry draw this week. The most recent draw, held on October 22, invited 400 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 539. Prior to that, on October 21, a draw for Express Entry candidates with Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nominations invited 648 candidates, requiring a minimum CRS score of 791.

Recently, the IRCC has established a pattern of conducting multiple Express Entry draws every two weeks, typically including draws specifically for PNP and CEC candidates.

This approach underscores IRCC’s commitment to increasing the number of domestic draws for Express Entry candidates who are already living and working in Canada as temporary residents. This strategy aims to help the department achieve its goal of reducing the number of temporary residents while also meeting the target for new permanent residents outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan.

The next Immigration Levels Plan is anticipated to be released by November 1 this year, detailing targets for 2025-2027. The plan for 2024 aims to welcome 110,770 new permanent residents, but it has not yet been confirmed whether IRCC has met this target.

Candidates who receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the second half of the year are more likely to be admitted in 2025, given the IRCC’s processing standard of six months for Express Entry Program applications.
