Canada conducted its latest Express Entry draw on August 6, 2025, inviting 225 candidates through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). To receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), candidates needed a minimum CRS score of 739.
Key Highlights:
- Draw Date: August 6, 2025
- Draw Type: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- Number of ITAs Issued: 225
- Minimum CRS Score: 739
Why the Cut-off Score Was High
When candidates receive a provincial nomination, they get an additional 600 points added to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. As a result, their chances of getting invited increase significantly. This also explains why the CRS cut-off was much higher in this round.

What This Means for PNP Candidates
This draw clearly shows Canada’s strong support for regional immigration. By focusing on PNP candidates, the government aims to address local labour shortages and help provinces grow their economies. Additionally, these candidates usually have a higher chance of adapting well to the Canadian workforce and lifestyle.
What to Do If You Were Invited
If you received an invitation in this draw, you now have 60 days to submit your complete permanent residence application. Make sure all your documents are in order before you apply.
For those who didn’t receive an ITA this time, there are still options. You can try to improve your CRS score or apply for a provincial nomination, which could boost your chances in future draws.
