On April 1, 2021, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), announced the launch of an online permanent residence application portal which would allow the eligible immigration applicants who will be applying for some of the specific economic permanent resident immigration programs to submit their applications via the online medium. These immigration programs are listed as follows:
1) Non-Express Entry (Base) Provincial Nominee Program
2) Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
3) Agri-Food Pilot
4) Atlantic Immigration Pilot
5) Quebec Selected Investor Program
6) Quebec Entrepreneur Program
7) Quebec Self-Employed Persons Program
In addition to this, the instructions associated with the Provincial Nominee Program have also been updated to remove and replace the references to titles that are, “paper-based” applications with the “Non-Express Entry” applications. For all other immigration programs and pilot streams listed in the above section, the required instructions have been updated to incorporate the references to applications that are to be submitted online going further.
