The Honourable Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC), Marco E.L. Mendicino in a press release that took place on April 14, 2021 have announced a new and innovative pathway for immigration for the permanent residence specifically for about 90,000 international graduates and essential workers who were contributing towards the Canadian economy since the recent past.
Starting from May 6, 2021, this newly released immigration pathway will enable eligible international students, who have completed their studies in Canada, as well as all those temporary workers across the Canada who were working in sectors such as health care and also other important occupations, to apply for their permanent residence program.
The Canadian Government will accept applications under these newly announced policies starting from May 6, 2021 – November 5, 2021 or until the limit of this immigration stream will reach its limit:
- 20,000 temporary foreign workers from health care
- 30,000 temporary foreign workers in the selected essential occupations
- 40,000 international students
Important Note: In order to support the importance of Francophone communities in the country, 3 additional immigration streams with no application limit has also been released for the French-speaking or the bilingual applicants.
