Ontario invited Tech workers and French speakers in its new PNP draw

In its new PNP draw, Ontario welcomed tech professionals and French speakers.

On February 8, Ontario hosted two Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.

Through two PNP draws, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) welcomed Express Entry applicants to apply for a provincial nomination.

Candidates who may be qualified for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream received 622 of the 828 invitations issued. These applicants needed an Express Entry profile with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 463 and 467.

They also required to have worked for at least one year in one of the six tech occupations mentioned below by NOC code:

• 0213 Computer and information systems managers

• 2147 Computer engineers

• 2172 Database analysts and data administrators

• 2173 Software engineers and designers

• 2174 Computer programmer and interactive media developers

• 2175 Web designers and developers

The remaining 206 applicants were invited to apply for the FSSW (French-Speaking Skilled Worker) stream. Scores of 463-467 were also required for these Express Entry applicants.

Candidates for the FSSW must have a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 7 in French and 6 in English. The OINP will look at candidates’ finances to determine if they have enough money to meet settlement fees in Ontario, among other things.

Those who have been invited to apply for Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) have 45 calendar days to do so.
