Beginning this week, foreign people who are fully vaccinated and meet the other conditions to enter Canada for non-essential purposes will be able to do so.
Based on the most recent available data, scientific facts, and epidemiological situation both in Canada and globally, the Canada Border Services Agency said that the country will resume welcoming citizens on September 7th.
According to the agency, public health indicators and case imports at the border, as well as changes in passenger concern, have been recorded at each stage of Canada’s progressive approach to easing border regulations.
The border test positive rate, for example, has remained low despite an increase in the number of travellers in recent months.
According to the CBSA, “the positivity rate for fully vaccinated travellers randomly selected for testing at the border was 0.19 % (112 positive tests out of 58,878 completed)” between August 9 and August 26.
“While the number of cases in Canada is increasing, illness severity and hospitalisation rates are still manageable as vaccination rates grow.
