Number of invitations issued: 4,750
Rank required to be invited to apply: 4,750 or above
Date and time of round: October 26,2022 13:05:36 UTC
CRS score of lowest-ranked candidate invited: 496
Tie-breaking rule: May 09,2022 09:04:20 UTC
The CRS has gone below 500 in an all-program draw for the first time since December 2020.
The most recent all-program Express Entry draw was held in Canada on October 26. Since all-program draws started on July 6, this is the ninth draw.
4,750 applicants with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 496 received invitations. Invitations might be sent to applicants from the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). All of these initiatives work with the Express Entry framework.
All Express Entry programme draws were put on hold for more than 18 months beginning in December 2020. Only those who qualified for the CEC or the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) received invitations to apply (ITAs) throughout the hiatus. Due to a backlog of applications brought on the COVID-19-related travel restrictions, the drawings were put on hold. The IRCC also stopped holding lotteries for the CEC in September 2021.
Since draws commenced, the CRS has never fallen below 500 until this draw. On December 23, 2020, the score was 468, which was the previous time it was this low. All-program Express Entry draws were put on hold following that draw in order to prevent the backlog of applications for permanent residence from growing.
The eight prior draws where the number of candidates grew as the CRS score steadily declined show that IRCC is able to increase the number of ITAs it issues by decreasing the CRS score.
